Speedriding
We´re pleased to welcome many of the world´s best athletes in speedriding to Vinterveko 2012!!
During Vinterveko 2012 there will be organised ski tours for speedrideres to exciting summits in and around Voss. There will also be possible to frefly in Voss Resort and Voss Fjellandsby. On Friday the 16th of March we´ll host a speedriding freeride competition. The competition will be held nearby Voss Resort.
Please note: Everyone who participates in speedriding must have a valid speedriding/speedflying license and a Vinterveko participant pass. You MUST register within the opening hours at the registration office prior to the activity.
Speedriding/ speedflying is a fairly new sport where you combine flying with a chute and skiing. This combination enables you to fly or ski down steep mountains, fly off cliffs and make ski tracks where no one has been before. The wings used in speedriding/flying is a mix between a skydive chute and a paraglider. In Voss a few pilots started with this sport in 2006, and since then the amount of pilots has increased. There are now 15 active speedrider pilots here at Voss, both paraglider pilots and skydivers. However, more people are joining the crowd and the sport is expanding.
