Speedriding pioneers to Vinterveko

- Bon is in many ways considered the pioneer of this sport and we are excited to show him what Voss has to offer, says Morten Knapstad, who is responsible for speedriding during Vinterveko.

François Bon is one of the world's most renowned speedriding pilots, but he´s also very experienced within paragliding, skydiving and BASE. He has flown from many famous mountains, including Aconcagua 6962 m, the highest mountain in the Andes Mountains.

During Vinterveko 2011 Bon and his team have a lot to look forward to! We´ll host a "Big Mountain Freeride competition" in speedriding in Voss Resort. In this competition the pilot has to choose a line down a mountain side, where he/she combines both skiing and canopy flying. The pilot will be judged on various criteria. Prize money for this competition is 1000 Euro!

There will also be freeflying in Voss Resort and Voss Fjellandsby Myrkdalen, and a guided tour to Bakkanosi, which is located in the world heritage area.The speedriding activities by the ski resorts are spectator friendly and the audience can watch the pilots from allocated areas.

What is speedriding?
- Speedriding is a relatively new sport where you combine canopy flying and skiing.
- The speedriding canopy is a combination of a skydiving canopy and a paragliding canopy. It is constructed to take off easily and fly close to the terrain.
